Used Cars, New Cars, Auto Parts, and more! » 2009 » February

If you have an Internet connection you can see a full list of available government auto auctions if you enter the Gov-Auctions website.

This is no special website even if they are very well-documented and offer many interesting features for their subscribers and members. But there´s a great thing about it and that is the hard work that the team puts up in order to pot the latest auctions available in the US.

This is very difficult considering that there are states that register more auctions than others. This difference is mainly cased by the state´s population and by the number of collected cars.

According to its developers, Gov-Auctions is a very complex website that provides the best information on government-seized properties and automobiles.

This is more than a sales page and you´ll see that right away. It deals with the problems caused by car auction sites and it reacts on fake reviews posted on other websites. The entire team behind it is trying to prove that their work is not in vain.

Considering all that and after analyzing a few other website you´ll notice that they are above the average when it comes to honesty and that´s why they´re considered to be trustworthy.

On the website you´ll be able to view their wide range of services and see what each one can do for you but these features are pretty well hidden and you might have some trouble finding them in the first place

Gov Auctions offers you the possibility to start an online search with latest cars sold through auctions but they forgot to mention that these cars weren´t sold here but on other sites.

They are a little bit fuzzy about presenting things but that can be caused by the huge amount of information that´s being added on regular basis. Even so they should do something in order to solve this problem.

Gov-Auction offers you a full list of auctions for every state in the US with complete details about getting involves and bidding in it.

Click on a state and you´ll se a list of every auction available. The list includes detailed information on location, city, phone number, status and much more. That´s pretty much all you need to know about an auction.

In addition to all that you´ll find many other auction sites listed here and categorized.
You just have to click on the link and you´ll enter what auction site you want (private or government-owned). Also, there´s a list of Federal Auto Auctions available for viewing.
Registration is very easy. Once you pay the $35 fee you have access to the member area. The 5-days e-course is located on the right side of the website right next to the ebook on how to avoid speeding tickets.

Also here you can find a few other important links for HUD, USDA and USPS (all of them are special auctions).

The states are located in the middle of the page and you can see the auction site for each of them only by clicking once on the name.

Gov-Auctions website features a nice and simple layout and it´s the best place for people to start looking for cars or properties.

The best thing about it is that it has updated listings and simultaneous features. The site is available only for US and that´s pretty obvious considering that it is a governmental website.

Gov-Auctions covers every US state and provides several links to other important sites that work with the Government. The most important thing is that the database is being updated on regular basis.

The downside is that Gov-Auctions are not that different from other sites as the developers want to believe. They won´t let you search their database directly, place your bid and make the transaction on the site. In order to complete this process you have to use other websites as well.

Anyone can visit the Gov-Auctions website and find a list of other interesting websites connected with the Government in one way or another. It´s like a portal for people´s properties and cars auctions.

´Cars run on water´ sounds weird, doesn´t it? People say it is impossible. But it is actually possible. It is not by diluting the gasoline, nothing is getting mixed here. This car has a conversion kit right beside the engine.

The purpose of this converter is to split the water molecule into oxygen and hydrogen gas molecules. That is H2O is getting split up resulting in gas HHO. Next, this gas is introduced into a combustion chamber. The car thus run on this, leads to a better combustion. Such cars can be called as water-fuelled cars.

Water-fuelled automobiles have already been discussed in some history books, few science magazines and news papers since 1800s. Many books describe engines which can run on water.
A water fuelled car is one hypothetical motor car which utilizes water as fuel and produces energy from the water onboard without any energy input. It purports to extract or create energy from the water itself. This is the basis in a perpetual-motion machine.

It is not related to a steam engine which uses water for transmission of energy from any of the heat sources to the turbine or pistons that perform the job of rotating the engine. It is not even linked to the crower-six stroke that adds few additional strokes to a regular internal engine of combustion.

It is neither related to the water injection process which is usually a method used for cooling combustion chambers by adding up water to incoming air and fuel mixture which in turn allows higher compression ratios with comparatively low engine knocking (detonation).
It is not similar to a hydrogen car where in to fuel it from water, the energy is used from a power plant to generate hydrogen gas through electrolysis.

It works on chemical energy content of water. The combustion of few conventional fuels like petrol or gasoline, coal, wood, etc., results in formation of substances with comparatively low energy.

Natural chemical processes or reactions don´t create energy. It is released by forming stable bonds from unstable bonds. Water is one such chemical abundant in nature since it has stable bonds which resist many reactions.

Theoretically it is possible to extract all energy from water by the process of nuclear fusion. Currently, we don´t have any commercially available goods based on the above technologies. Several have already been produced in courts but they have been fraudulently used for investment funds.

Inventors of the water-fuelled engines say that this technology has already been put into use but it was suppressed by international conventional-fuel suppliers like oil companies.

Ozzie Freedom Water4Gas is a guide that will show you how to convert your car to run on water. The process is simple and Water4Gas will show you step by step how to do it. Read my Water4Gas review and learn how you can start saving money on gas today.

When one thinks of the Toyota Yaris, there is not much confusion about what to expect from the car.  A small car which is meant for a reasonably small budget. The car itself is not cheating by cutting costs at the expense of safety, luxury and driving enjoyment. A typical Yaris is a modern car for a modern trendy buyer and very fuel efficient too. A nice car at a nice price.

Enter the Yaris TS, a much more vulgar expression of what other Yaris’s should not be. Would the same buyer, a person who is probably not prepared to pay above a certain amount for a car be very excited about a Yaris costing close to twice as much as the entry level model? Would the same buyer whose list of realistic features of what car to buy (not a dream car mind you) would not include top speed, 0-60 mph times and circuit like handling… Would this person look at their modest Yaris and think, wow how dumb can I be, I should have bought the much more expensive small car which is not any bigger that mine.

But there is a car out there in production and Toyota is hoping it will sell. The TS is powered by a 1.8 litre dual VVT-i engine producing 98kw (132hp). Surprisingly for a car with the much power Top speed is just above 200 km/h while 0-100km (60mph) is the 9 seconds region.

The car does well in terms of fuel consumption (7 litres for every 100 km). Other than that, slow standing still acceleration and a reasonable top speed(220km/h). This car is really just another Yaris with a bigger engine, revised suspension and chassis to handle the power, a few extra electronics for safety and driving dynamics. The exterior is not that different except for the 17 inch wheels. Not that much change on the interior.

So then who would buy this car?

A)     Hyperactive teens with money to spend

Answer: No. They would rather have the new Ford fiesta or Honda Civic or even the older Volkswagen Polo

B)      Old women wanting a faster Yaris

Answer: No. This car is not that fast for the amount of power it has. Honda Jazz would be a good alternative.

C)      Seasoned petrol heads looking for some things spunky and excitingly fast but not being the usual suspects (M3, RS4, AMG).

Answer: Well a good option is the Renault Clio R27. Just a little more expensive but more rewarding.

D)      Absolute brain dead individuals needing their heads checked? No.

Toyota would have done their market research before embarking on this adventure. And a good number of people would have ticked in the yes box for wanting a Yaris that is a little bit more expensive. So the point is Toyota is leading the way in keeping their customers happy.

Hybrid SUVs Video

It seems that when we say hybrid SUVs we actually make a mistake, as it sounds like an oxymoron. How come? SUVs are expensive vehicles and whoever purchases one probably has enough money to maintain and fuel it.Even so, with the fuel prices staying so high, we should not be amazed at people’s desire to have more economic vehicles, even though the vehicles under discussion are SUVs. Besides, there is this custom and policy all over the world to make people aware of the importance of our energetic resources which we have been using wastefully. Therefore, we should all be concerned about having hybrid vehicles which are more fuel-efficient.

So with these in mind, people started making some adjusting to powerful vehicles and turn them into hybrid SUVs. When you decide to buy hybrid SUVs, keep in mind the fact that not all of them are advantageous when it comes to the costs, which means that you have to look for information before choosing among the diverse hybrid SUVs. To be of help in this matter, analysts at automotive-cost tracking Web site IntelliChoice.com ran a study for CNNMoney.com, in which they investigated and compared projected 5-year ownership costs for hybrid vehicles that were similar in price and maintenance costs to SUVs. The elements followed in this study were fuel, maintenance, finance costs and depreciation. Analysts wanted to learn whether specific costs measured up to their expectations. They also compared the difference amounts between non hybrid and hybrid SUVs. According to their findings, hybrid SUVs beat the broad expectations by about $4,000.

Among the hybrid SUVs sold on the market at present, there are certain vehicles like Acura RD-X, BMW X5 Hybrid, Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Equinox, Dodge Durango, Ford Escape, Lexus RZ 400h, Saturn VUE, to mention just a few models. So, as you can see almost all the big automobile companies have become interested in doing something about the environment and finance and have already come up with a number of hybrid SUVs on the market.

How much can hybrid SUVs save in terms of fuel? No one can give clear cut figures as the calculations are quite extensive and the amount differs from vehicle to vehicle, as well as from driver to driver. What we can say is that hybrid SUVs, and hybrid vehicles in general, though heavier, seem to bear their bigger weight better than conventional vehicles, and this is apparent if we look at the problem of fuel efficiency and costs. Therefore, choosing from hybrid SUVs types is a true pleasure; take a driving test and see for yourself. Hybrid SUVs are definitely worth paying for.

Hybrid Honda Accord Video

The development trend and raised interest in protecting the environment, and saving the planet’s energy resources by wasting as little as possible has materialized at least in the field of car making. We are talking about the creation of a new type of vehicle: the hybrid car. Honda is among the many car manufacturers that have taken this approach, designing a number of hybrid cars like the Hybrid Honda Accord. The Hybrid Honda Accord was made between 2005 and 2007 by Sayama, Japan and Marysville, Ohio. The successors of the Hybrid Honda Accord are Honda FCX Clarity and Honda Accord Diesel. The class to which the Hybrid Honda Accord belongs is mid-size. This is actually a 4-door sedan with an FF layout. It is powered by a 3.0L V6 engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission. The other features of the Hybrid Honda Accord include the wheelbase of 107.9 in, the length of 189.5 in (in 2005) and 191.1 in (in 2006 – 07), the width of 71.4 in (in 2005) and 71.7 in (in 2006 – 07), the height of 57.0 in (in 2005) and 57.2 in (in 2006 – 07). Other cars by Honda related to the Hybrid Honda Accord are Honda Accord and Honda Inspire.

The Hybrid Honda Accord is a hybrid version of the North American Honda Accord which was provided in model years starting with 2005 through 2007. The Hybrid Honda Accord followed the other hybrid varieties from Honda: Honda Insight and Honda Civic Hybrid. The third in the line of hybrid Hondas, this Accord model was valued $3,000 more than the EX V6 model Accord and it preserved the same trim and quality levels, except the 2005 model which did not include the power sunroof. The Hybrid Honda Accord stands at the top of the Honda lineup.

This car has an equal displacement as the regular 7th generation Accord V6 power plant; yet the engine of the Hybrid Honda Accord is derived from the Honda Odyssey Minivan model of 2005. The Hybrid Honda Accord allows the user to shut off three out of the six cylinders for fuel economy reasons, but only under certain conditions. This cylinder stopping technique is called Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) and it was patented by Honda. The engine of the Hybrid Honda Accord features iVTEC technology and also drives a very modern compact transmission. This new transmission was developed as to allow the inclusion of the electric motor inserted between the transmission and the transversely-mounted engine. The fuel economy in this hybrid Honda was first rated at 29 mpg (8.1 L/100 km/35mpg imp) in the city and 37 mpg (6.4 L/100 km/44 mpg imp) outside. With such great properties, it’s no wonder that the Hybrid Honda Accord won the Canadian Car of the Year Best New Alternative Power Award in 2005.

From April 2009 it has been announced that there are new rules regarding tax relief on business cars. This could make quite a difference to the capital allowances so it may be more practical to change your car sooner than you had anticipated.

This Pre-Budget report details allowances are based on the vehicles carbon dioxide emissions. The ones mainly affected will be those acquired after the 31st March 2009 for companies and for sole traders and partnerships this will apply after 5th April 09.

After April it will only be cars with co2 emissions that go up to 160g/km which will attract allowances at just 10%. For that reason buy a car before April and keep the higher rate of relief.

It is thought that the more upmarket cars with emissions up to 160 g/km may be a better proposition to buy now. At the present time if you are contemplating buying a car which costs more than £12,000 writing down allowances will be compressed to £3,000 a year. You are however entitled to a balancing allowance when you get rid of it. Ultimately the complete capital cost of the car is allowed for tax in its lifetime.

These new rules will take off the £3,000 limit plus the allowance. In the case of the expensive car which normally loses its value much more quickly than the rate of capital allowances, this will mean that there could well be a shortfall in allowances as in comparison to the cost of the car in its lifetime.

Under these new rules it appears that businesses that lease cars that are expensive should indeed benefit. The restriction on tax relief on lease rentals for cars exceeding £12,000 will be replaced by 15% disallowance of lease rental payments on vehicles with co2 emissions that are above 160g/km. This will be regardless of their cost.

Car leasing, personal contract purchase, contract hire, lease purchase and car loans are all different ways to finance the cost of cars and vans. The variety of vehicle financing options available today can be confusing so I thought I would focus on ‘contract hire’ and explain how this technique works.

Leasing a car basically takes care of one of the biggest financial issues associated with acquiring a new vehicle which is depreciation. The value of your brand new car falls through the floor, even before you have driven away from your supplier.

When you take out a car lease the residual value of your selected vehicle is calculated. The is the estimated value of the vehicle at the end of the agreed lease period based on the anticipated mileage during this time. The calculated residual value of your chosen vehicle is then deducted from either the current manufacturers retail price, or a value agreed with the leasing firm, and you will pay the remainder through your monthly lease payments. So the higher the residual value in comparison with the current value, the less you will be paying each month.

Contract hire is a vehicle financing method that has maximum benefit for customers who are registered for VAT, so it is most suitable for businesses and the self-employed. If your vehicle is used exclusively for business purposes you can reclaim 100% of the VAT. Even if your car or van is used for some personal use you can still reclaim 50% of the VAT.

A contract hire agreement means that you have actually hired the selected car or van for an agreed period, usually between 1 and 5 years, during which time you will pay the agreed rental, based upon mileage. You will return the vehicle to your supplier at the end of your contract hire period, much the same as a car leasing contract. You will not encounter any painful surprise disposal or depreciation costs.

Contract hire can optionally include full vehicle maintenance which may include routine servicing and replacement tyres. Up to 100% of your contract hire rental charges can be offset against your taxable profits and minimal capital outlay is required.

It’s therefore no surprise that contract hire is the favoured financing option chosen by many businesses and self-employed people.

For cheap car leasing I recommend Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.

Initially there was talk that Audi might not be allowed to release the V10 version as it will interfere with sales of the Lambo Gallardo.

The Audi team has really stepped up the latest version of their R8 to be viable competition with the other big boys on the circuit. With the V10 rated at 525 horse power, we are talking serious power. However Audi has taken the trouble of making the car very easy to drive.

This ultra powerful version of the R8 is capable of flying from zero to sixty mph in less than four seconds, but what makes it an even better alternative to the Porches, Lamborghinis and Ferraris of the world is that the power it brings is so nicely complemented by the incredible handling that you experience behind the wheel.

How Much?

The price tag on the 2010 Audi R8 has jumped almost as much as the quality of the car and at nearly one hundred and fifty thousand dollars the price is another close point of comparison between the new R8 and the Porsche 911.R8 V10 has now the power punch to challenge the legendary 911, F430 and Gallardo.  Of course at one hundred and fifty thousand it is far from practical for even the wealthy, but this car is by far the most practical of any of the super-cars. What an engine the R8 has. It is actually very similar to the racing version without making the car undrivable.

The Look

As should be expected from a car with such a lofty price tag, the 2010 Audi R8 is beautiful both inside and out.The first R8 was good enough to earn car of the year status in some countries, an achievement not so many sports cars can boost about. There is virtually no difference between this new R8 V10 and the slightly smaller V8 R8.

The 2010 Audi R8 is most likely the only one of the super-cars that has enough space to stow enough luggage for a week long holiday with nearly seven cubic feet of storage available, and the space that is occupied is loaded with features you’d be hard pressed to find in a car with a smaller price tag.

There are any number of options in order to accessorize or customize the new R8, but in reality you don’t really need any of them – the stock model comes complete with heated seats, a GPS navigation system, an incredible sound system, automatic air and a built in alarm.

The 2010 R8 is off the charts when it comes to power, handling and performance but it also gets incredibly high marks in both safety and design further cementing its place at the top of the list for anyone who wants to own a super-car but has needs for an automobile that can be driven every day.

Mercedes Benz C Class For Sale  | Pick Up For Sale  | Used Car Website

Used car auctions are great ways to purchase cars at deep discount.  There you’ll find everything from luxury automobiles to junk projects.  Whether it’s for personal use or resale, a lot of people acquire automobiles in this manner.  But unless you keep some things in mind the auction can turn into a nightmare.

One possible problem is that the purchase might not be a good one.  The car won at auction might turn out to be a lemon.  Cars sold at such auctions are generally sold according to used car laws which tend to make it an as is sale.  Even children have been taught about “as is” through a television cartoon showing a guy buying a used car”.  The salesman responds “as is” to every question.  Once the sale is made and the man tries to enter the car, it shakes itself apart.  The unfortunate buyer shouts “I want the car as was!”  Don’t let that happen to you.

Reputable preowned car auctions give buyers ample opportunities to check out the cars before bidding or purchase.  If an auction won’t do that, run.  Spend time at the facility before the auction begins.  Inspect and take a spin in the interesting autos.  Bring a mechanic to provide an expert eye.  If not, then during the test drive bring the car to a mechanic for inspection.  A good mechanic can provide a thorough inspection in a short time.  Anyone with a decent eye can check the body, interior and other physical elements for wear and tear .

The very nature of auctions leads to another common issue.  Auctions can be a great deal, but the price could also be more than common retail.  That holds true for car auctions too.  The car’s value can be quickly eclipsed by excited bidding.  Add the fees often associated with the auction and it means great care must be taken to know the real value of a car.  Be armed with Kelly Blue Book values as well as real sales examples of similar models and years.  With Internet enabled phones and the like it’s now easy to look up this information while on site.  Even for the car of your dreams, don’t bid more than its value.

Car Payment Calculator Video

In the modern world a car is practically a must have  Sure public transportation exists, but for many people it’s not realistic.  There’s just too much to do on too many unique schedules.  Some people are afraid to use the bus or train in the evening.  The case for a car is a good one.  To avoid the pitfall of buying more can then they can afford, people often turn to a car payment calculator to estimate how the car fits into their budget.

These aren’t tough to use.  They’re all over the Internet on sites like Yahoo autos.  The calculators spit out monthly payment after all the variables such as price and interest rate are entered.  Some will even include insurance, but not all do that.  Before buying an auto, take note of every penny it will take to own it.  These include insurance, of course, maintenance such as tires and oil changes, cost of storage which might include  extra rental fees for a garage space at the apartment and the office.  Gasoline prices are also an important element of cost.

A lot of folks don’t remember to plan for accidents.  Sure, there’s insurance, but insurance always has a deductible.  Can you pay it to get the car back in working order?  Can you take the increased monthly payment after an accident?  Don’t forget the fees associated with registration and emissions.  Although all vehicles share this, it’s part of the overall cost.

Car buyers too often rely only on monthly payment.  The salesman promises a monthly payment that meets your budget  That sounds great.  But something is missing.  Price of the car is key.  Without the bottom line price a buyer can’t really shop for the best deal or haggle for the best price.  Looking only at the monthly payment, or even at the monthly payment plus all the other expenses, is only part of the picture.  The price must be known before the car is purchased.

Use a car payment calculator to know if that car is affordable.  But it’s only one tool that offers only some of the important financial information needed for a car purchase.  Make sure you have all the tools and all the information before buying that car.
